Iran Backs All Efforts to Establish and Strengthen Peace
WANA (Apr 27) – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that peace and trust are essential for enhancing economic, trade, cultural, and political ties among nations, and that Iran advocates for any efforts aimed at promoting peace and tranquility.
During a phone conversation on Saturday with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the National Leader of Turkmenistan, President Pezeshkian stated that the upcoming joint economic commission in Tehran will facilitate the implementation of bilateral agreements and enhance interactions between the two countries.
The Iranian president expressed gratitude for the invitation from the People’s Council of Turkmenistan to participate in the “International Year of Peace and Trust” conference, highlighting that peace and trust are the lost treasures of humanity and commending the initiative behind this proposal.
Addressing concerns regarding the declining water levels of the Caspian Sea, Pezeshkian welcomed Turkmenistan’s suggestion to hold a summit of the heads of littoral states to discuss the issue. The president announced that he would assign Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, to coordinate with the foreign ministers of these countries on this matter.
Berdimuhamedow, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the strengthening relationship between the two nations, rooted in mutual respect, stating that Turkmenistan is keen to expand comprehensive ties with its long-standing friend and neighbor.
The Turkmen leader also voiced concern over the continuous decline in the Caspian Sea’s water levels, urging Tehran to host a summit of the leaders of the littoral states.
Additionally, he expressed solidarity with Iran following the powerful explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port, offering assistance in this regard.
